ABOUT THETA EPD

WAP Sustainability is the home of Theta EPD, a software platform designed to accelerate the disclosure and management of product-level carbon footprints. Theta provides Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) generation solutions for industries impacted by the U.S. Federal Government’s Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and state-level Buy Clean Programs. Theta is the smart tool for the automation and simplification of LCAs and EPDs.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Join our diverse team of changemakers at WAP Sustainability as a Theta Concrete Sales Consultant! Our sustainability software solution, Theta EPD, creates Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for the industries impacted by the U.S. Federal Government’s Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and state-level Buy Clean Programs.

In this key role within our growing software team, you’ll connect with potential customers, share the benefits of our platform, and support them through the sales process. Once onboard, you’ll be the main point of contact, helping clients navigate onboarding, adopt the product, and achieve ongoing success with our offerings.

This role demands a service first attitude, exceptional communication skills, and a deep understanding of customer needs to drive satisfaction and growth.

The ideal applicant will have demonstrated experience in creatively identifying and nurturing new business prospects. Within WAP Sustainability, they will work alongside our technical teams to develop new features, while communicating the needs of current and new customers.

While it is not mandatory, experience with Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) or Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) is beneficial. Similarly, having an understanding of the concrete, asphalt, steel, wood, or related sectors is advantageous.

In a fully remote setting, being independently driven and a self-starter is essential. We value proactive team players who take initiative and collaborate effectively.


AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Identify new clients, build and maintain strong relationships, and manage strategic partnerships.
  • Develop proposals, negotiate contracts, and manage sales agreements.
  • Gather market data, conduct research, and develop strategies to identify opportunities and drive growth.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting to closing, ensuring contract execution.
  • Lead meetings to understand client needs, draft clear agreements, and address client concerns to ensure satisfaction.
  • Work with internal teams to deliver on contracts and use client feedback to improve engagement and processes.
  • Guide clients through onboarding, setting up accounts, and adding users.
  • Provide tailored training on our products to meet specific client needs.


DESIRED SKILL SET

  • Demonstrated success in expanding the client portfolio, driving sales growth, and enhancing renewals within the existing client base.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, to express technical and nontechnical concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Technical skills required to create proposals and identifying solutions that align with client needs.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in CRM systems and customer success tools, particularly HubSpot.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of experience in sales: presenting value propositions, directly negotiating contracts, and closing deals
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience in the concrete/cement/slag/materials industries is ideal.
  • Experience with building lasting client relationships.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for helping customers to achieve their goals.

Compensation: Market competitive salary (negotiated based on experience) + Variable bonus up to 20% of annual base salary (based on performance).
