JOB DESCRIPTION

WAP Sustainability is inviting you to be a part of our diverse team of changemakers as a Supplier Engagement Analyst working for our Material Health division. Material Health is one of WAP’s core service verticals and our work addresses the intersection of material safety and functionality in products. This requires building trust and maintaining transparency within the complex supply chains that are critical for informing our chemical management systems. This role requires strong interpersonal and time-management skills and a passion for improving the environment by addressing the human health impacts of leading products and companies.

The Supplier Engagement Analyst will be responsible for conducting outreach to suppliers, managing data collection processes, and ensuring timely follow-ups with suppliers and WAP team members. This role requires persistence, attention to detail, and strong communication skills to obtain the necessary information to ensure successful project management outcomes.

The ideal candidate is process-driven, highly organized, and not afraid to make repeated calls and send follow-up emails to ensure supplier engagement. This position is well-suited for individuals with experience in call centers, junior business development, or any role requiring persistent outreach and follow-through. While a background in biological sciences, chemistry or materials science is beneficial, it is not required.

This role offers multiple career growth paths that can be designed based on your skills, interests, and the company’s needs, with opportunities to advance into supplier engagement management, operations, or sustainability consulting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collect supply chain data through supplier outreach via phone and email.
  • Document supplier interactions and track deadlines in task management systems.
  • Manage supplier communication timelines to ensure prompt responses to data collection requests.
  • Monitor outreach progress and escalate delays for timely resolution.
  • Transfer accurate and complete data to the technical team.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance outreach efficiency and improve response rates.
  • Support key company sustainability goals by aligning data collection efforts with the company mission.

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 1-3 years of experience in supplier outreach, customer service, business development, or call center roles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
  • Persistent and reliable in following through with suppliers and team members.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with experience managing multiple timelines and tasks.
  • Able to follow structured processes while identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic proficiency in data entry, CRM tools, and task management systems.
