JOB DESCRIPTION

We seek our next Business Development Analyst to partner up with our BD team to drive sales, increase productivity through analytics, and improve sales processes and strategies. 

The ideal person for the role is an independent, entrepreneurial, self-driven professional who will grow the company's revenue while maintaining client relations at the highest level. Internally, this person will also collaborate with the technical teams responsible for delivering the contracts sold - and having a great time while doing all of that! 

WAP Sustainability meets our customers where they need to be, making each of our sales customized. Each call we take is different from the last one. Candidates for this position must be able to perform successfully in a fast-paced, intellectually intense, service-oriented environment, keeping with WAP's values and culture.

Occasionally, the Business Development Analyst will take on speaking engagements on behalf of WAP, will travel to conferences, and participate in industry-related events. All great opportunities to share your knowledge on sustainability and develop yourself even further, professionally, and personally. 

 

Some of the critical responsibilities of this role are: 

  • Identify and research potential clients.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Coordinate with the entire Business Development team to develop mutually beneficial proposals.
  • Negotiate contract terms with clients and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Work with the delivery teams to ensure contracts are executed as agreed.
  • Obtain market intelligence and competitive data about potential targeted pursuits and develop marketing strategies to maximize the value of that intelligence.
  • Make and give presentations to prospective clients and internal team members.
  • Create and implement processes and policies to support the overall business.
  • Track, identify, and add qualified prospects to the sales pipeline
  • Develop and manage strategic partnerships to grow business.
  • Track and report on the status of proposal components.
  • Conduct ongoing market research.
  • Drive the end-to-end sales process.
  • Prepare and submit sales contracts.

 

WAP uses HubSpot for sales management. In this role, the Business Development Analyst must log all BD/sales activities, including those listed above and any others, in this system.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience of proven sales experience in sustainability and/or services (not commodities).
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, to express technical and nontechnical concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Technical skills required to create proposals and find solutions to meet client requirements.

Compensation: Market competitive salary (negotiated based on experience) + Variable bonus up to 20% of annual base salary (based on performance).
